1. Music and Audacity
It’s hard to find resources for our fine and performing arts teachers, so when I find something, I want to share it! Learn about 18 ways music teachers can use the free software Audacity in their classrooms.
2. Question Trails
If you’ve followed this blog, you know I am a fan of getting students up and moving and away from worksheets! This is a new instructional strategy to me and I’m excited to try it! Question trails are a sort of scavenger hunt for students. Post questions around the room. Have students start with different questions. Then the answer sends them to a different question. For example, have one student start at question #5 and if the answer is D, it will tell students to go to question #14 next. Another student can start with question #2 and the correct answer will tell them to go to question #7. If a student visits the same question twice, then they have a wrong answer. Learn all about how to create your own and get templates in this blog post.
3. Reduce Overload in Google Drive
I love this graphic that shows how both teachers and students can reduce cognitive overload when looking at Google Drive. I have all the extra features turned off in my Drive, because it’s just too much! I use both a numbering system and colored folders to quickly access the documents I need.
4. Conflict Reflection Template
I appreciate this template when there’s a conflict in the classroom. One of the things I’ve learned the most from the Educational Leadership program I am in is how easily something can be misconstrued and how by having a conversation it can be fixed. Having a resource such as this one can help both the teacher and student to take a step back and understand where each may be coming from.
