1. #GratitudeSnaps Challenge
I’m a bit behind on this one, but I saw it on Twitter and felt compelled to check it out. Created by Tara Martin and Tisha Richmond, #GratitudeSnaps are the November cousin to #BookSnaps. The idea is to focus each day on one thing for which you are grateful. It could be a thing, a person, or a feeling; it’s up to you! Take a picture with your phone and share on social media why this image makes you grateful. Or use one of the templates shared in this blog post about the challenge.
2. CyberSecurity for Virginia Educators
If you’re a Virginia educator, listen up! @VirtualVirginia recently partnered with Virginia Cyber Range for a professional learning course to gain a foundational understanding of cybersecurity. It’s free for all Virginia public school educators. This is a really great opportunity to learn about potential threats and allows educators and students to safely complete hands-on cybersecurity exercises in virtual environments. Participants who successfully complete the course will earn a certificate worth three hours of professional learning.
3. Fill the Sketchnote
If you’ve been reading Weekly Finds for a while, you know I’m a design geek. I love designing graphics, presentations, websites, the list goes on! This summer, I dabbled with sketchnoting, even though I can’t draw a thing. I really enjoyed it and it turns out I can draw! A bit, anyways. I haven’t been keeping up with it, but I was intrigued by this idea of designing a leaf and adding words and images about “be-leafing in yourself”.
4. Exit Tickets with Pear Deck
I love how Ms. Frenchik is improving her exit tickets using Pear Deck. Students can write on a post it note and circle their level of comfortability with sharing with the class. What a great find!
5. Making the Most of a 90-Minute Block
There’s a lot that goes into teaching for 90 minutes! Check out TCEA’s reshare of Cult of Pedagogy’s tips and strategies!
