I’ve officially transferred over to preparing for the next school and have my eyes peeled for some great finds to share; I got a few weeks behind, but have some great ones for this week!
1. SlidesMania School Bundle
I love SlidesMania and it’s one of my favorite places to go when I need templates in Google Slides. Shelly Sanchez shared this school bundle she saw on the site full of activities and graphic organizers you can use throughout the school year. It’s one of a few school bundles that Paula Martinez, the founder of SlidesMania, has designed.
2. Action Tickets
I’m a big proponent of taking time to reflect and exit tickets can be one way to do that. However, by working with adults, I’ve learned actions are big if I want them to see how a tool will work for them or have them remember how to use it. So, this twist on exit tickets really intrigued me. I think this can also be used to help groups working on a project or AP/IB/dual enrollment students and not just teachers. I like the idea of asking critical questions that makes one think through how they will act going forward as it’s more likely they will act and remember the content.
3. Dropdown in Google Docs
Have you heard that you can now use dropdown options in Google Docs? This will be great for choice boards, tables, and more. Here are two examples that I found, but there’s a bunch more on Twitter. Just search for “dropdown google docs” and you’ll see some awesome ideas and guides for how to use.
4. New Teacher Advice
Are you a student teacher or new teacher or know someone who will be this coming school year? Here’s a great thread with lots of ideas, including a new class coming in August from one of my favorites, EduProtocols.
5. Differentiating Instructions for SPED Students
While this video shares ways to differentiate instructions in Canvas, it might work for your LMS too. I really liked the ideas that I got watching it and will be passing on to our special education department.
Weekly Finds will be intermittent through the summer, so watch my Twitter feed for new editions!
