1. Primary Sources
Even at the high school level, understanding primary sources can be a struggle for some students. Which is why I appreciate a good graphic organizer like this primary source detective that will help guide students in the process:
2. Scaffolding Choices
I like good choice boards as much as I like good graphic organizers! This one with options for must do, may do, can do, you pick and mix it up is not only food-themed, (which is fun!) but can help scaffold choices for students.
This is a great introduction to the idea of choice boards or with those who struggle with feeling overwhelmed by all the choices! While I don’t see a link to a template, I believe this is the background used in Lisa Whiston’s version.
If you’re looking for other food-themed backgrounds, check out this equally amazing template!
3. More Choices
This quick photo captured a great example of a Choose Your Own Adventure/Choice Board shared at the recent virtual EdTechRVA conference.
This can be re-created in Google Slides or Genially and embedded into Canvas!
4. Principles of Design Playlist
If you’ve attended any of my recent conference sessions, you know I’ve been presenting on design elements this year and how teachers can design their own amazing professional-looking activities! So I was thrilled when I saw Tanya Avrith post this video playlist of design skills by Adobe.
5. Graphic Novel Scavenger Hunt
This is so amazing! Erica at Ed, Tech, & Style shared an informational, engaging, and well-designed presentation to look like a graphic novel while learning about graphic novels.
This may have just given me an idea for future design sessions! This is why I have come to enjoy sharing out items I find. It gives me time to reflect, find inspiration, and hopefully inspire someone else and keeps the learning going! Have a great week!
