November 19 Weekly Finds

1. Eduprotocols Playlist

I talked about Eduprotocols two weeks ago and I’ve been hearing about them everywhere this year! Just like Jamboard seemed to take over the world last year, I think Eduprotocols will be this year’s leading trend! So if you haven’t gotten on the bandwagon yet, Jake Miller shared out this AWESOME playlist of recorded webinars with teachers discussing the different Eduprotocols and how you can use them in class!

Eduprotocols Playlist

I’ve taken similar lists and created a Choose Your Own PD for teachers in my building. I’ve added this to my Professional Learning course in Canvas so that teachers can watch and earn PD points.

2. Cyber Sandwich Showdown

One of the most popular EduProtocols is called the Cyber Sandwich. Two of my favorite edtech ladies to follow on Twitter, Kathryn Greene and Stephanie Howell, both shared out templates they created and I just can’t get enough of them!

3. HyperRubics and Peer Reviews

Back in September, I listed Episode 175 of the Cult of Pedagogy as a weekly find and I loved that episode! @minayaoong shared her takeaways from the episode and what she created for her classes on narrative writing using the HyperRubrics from the episode and pairing it with peer reviews.

4. Progressive Choice Boards

Ditch That Textbook has a great blog post on creating progressive choice boards that scaffold the amount of choices for students making the process less overwhelming.

5. High School Student Portfolios

I love when the edtech people I follow on social media have the same questions I do! George Couros asked about and received a lot of examples of student portfolios for the high school level. There aren’t a lot of great examples out there, trust me, I’ve done the Google search! So I was excited to see this question and immediately saved it to Wakelet to keep the responses.

I’ll be taking a break next week for the holiday break. For those in the US, have a Happy Thanksgiving! Otherwise, look for the next Weekly Find in December.
