Shake Up Learning Show!

If you couldn’t tell by now, I am a huge fan of both Kasey Bell of Shake Up Learning and Matt Miller of Ditch That Textbook. Together they have a podcast called The Google Teacher Tribe that I am addicted to. It has all of the Google news I could possibly need besides great ideas for how to effectively implement Google products into the classroom. I rarely walk away without some new idea to share or check out!

So when Kasey announced that she was starting a brand new podcast called The Shake Up Learning Show, I got super excited! And then I got even more excited when she was also looking for members to join her podcast launch team and I got selected from hundreds of applicants to join the team! I will get a sneak preview of the first 5 episodes which will air to the public starting on March 26th. You can sign up for the latest updates here. I will have a review of her show once I get a chance to hear the episodes.

Listening to podcasts is actually a pretty new thing for me and I’ve found that it has taken over my commute to and from work. I have a 30-minute drive each way, so every day I get about an hour to listen to all my faves. I first started with edtech podcasts: the aforementioned Google Teacher Tribe (GTT), Matt Miller’s Ditch That Textbook podcast, and The House of EdTech with Chris Nessi (who is a producer for GTT). I don’t think Matt is producing his podcast anymore as there haven’t been new episodes since September. That’s a shame because I really enjoyed it!

I then branched out to other topics and now pretty much listen to everything between movie news and politics. Here’s a list of what I currently listen to:

Depending on where I can find the podcast, I’ve been switching between Google Podcasts and Spotify. I prefer Google Podcasts because I like that when I download new episodes, they automatically delete 24 hours after I’ve finished playing it. I think the app is very clear and easy to navigate too and since I have a Google Pixel phone, any Google product works with the phone brilliantly. The Android Auto app in my car doesn’t always recognize it, but I live with it. If I can’t find a podcast though, I can usually go to Spotify and find it right away.

I would love to hear what podcasts and apps you are using too! Please feel free to comment below!
